I'm Christopher Davis and I'm excited to share with you my journey becoming a public school teacher.
As a professional musician, I've been a performer and teacher for as long as I can remember. When I was in college, I was asked to teach some classes and I always jumped at the opportunity. Adult learners are great, but I was a softy at heart and preferred to work with kids. After teaching privately for a while, I decided to start a Masters of Education with teaching credential so I could reach as many people as possible. I've been training a long time for this moment!
I believe my temperament is perfect for a music classroom. I am reflective, sensitive, analytical, and love to do things sequentially. This is consistent with what musicians need to be successful at performing and generalizes how we interpret the stimuli of the world. I am continually mindful of how each of my students are doing both inside and outside of the classroom. My experience with assessing and critiquing should help me communicate steps clearly and effectively for students to use, learn, and stay engaged.
I want to inspire children to do their best! Check out the information and resources on rest of my website and let me know how I can help you achieve your goals.
