BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Christopher Davis has a history of accomplishments as a performer.  He has performed as a concerto soloist with the California Institute of Music Orchestra, the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts Orchestra, and the Northwest Arkansas Symphony Orchestra.  In his graduate studies, he traveled to Germany, Austria, and Portugal where he performed and received instruction from some of the world’s most renowned teachers and scholars.

While a resident of Santa Barbara, California between 2008-2020, Christopher served as an administrator for many music organizations.  These endeavors highlight his affinity to understand and support others in the community.  He was House Manager for the Music Academy of the West (2009-2016), Production Associate for Camerata Pacifica (2009-2014), Head Usher for the Ojai Music festival (2014-2019), Vice President of the Santa Barbara Music Club (2013-2018), Adjudicator for the Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation (2016-2020), Director of the Chamber Music Society of Santa Barbara (2013-2015), and Staff Pianist at Westmont College (2014-2016).

Christopher has more than two decades of leadership and teaching experience, and in recent years his career has turned sharply toward education.  Starting out as a part-time piano teacher and music tutor, Christopher was later hired by the University of Arkansas and UC Santa Barbara to teach undergraduate theory and piano classes for three years each.  He later opted to focus on building his private studio and worked primarily with children and adolescents.  It seems only natural that from these experiences, he was eventually compelled to do a Master of Education and teaching credential to be able to teach in public schools.

Christopher attended UC San Diego where he received his BA Degree in Music with Departmental Honors in 2004.  At the University of Arkansas, he received his MM Degree in 2007 and Graduate Certificate in Advanced Instrumental Performance in 2008.  In 2013, Christopher completed his DMA Degree in piano performance from UC Santa Barbara. His M.Ed. and teaching credential were conferred in 2020 by National University.

Christopher has released two albums of his own solo piano music.  They can be found at
